Thursday Meet & Greet Dance (9:00 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.)
$8 gets you in
Every Thursday night dancers converge upon "The Back Room" at Glen Echo for the best in DJed Blues dances
in the Washington, DC area. A variety of DJs and instructors offer a unique experience every night. The
space has gorgeous sprung hardwood floors, air-conditioning, and a water cooler! Every week features a
forty-five minute beginner blues lesson at 8:15pm, and is followed by dancing from 9:00 until 12:30pm.
Capital Blues hosts the night, and they are planning to have a very special dance to welcome out-of-town
dancers who want to get some good blues dancing in before the weekend's main festivities. The cost is $8,
and that includes the beginner lesson at 8:15pm. No partner required for the lesson.
The Back Room is located at Glen Echo Park, in Glen Echo, Maryland. The address is 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo, MD.
The room is located on the side the Spanish Ballroom, which itself is directly next to the picnic area in the
center of the park. Facing the ballroom, look to your left and walk to the side of the building where you'll see
a couple of stairs, two white lights, hopefully a stand-up sign, and there is the entrance to the "Back Room."
