Phil OgilvieÕs Rhythm Kings to Headline Saturday Night!
February 10th, 2009
Tired of all the government bailout talk? Do you worry that DC is piling on the pork, but never has anything in it for you? Well dear taxpayer, your time has come!
This year at DCLX 09 we have the only kind of PORK (other than bacon) that you like, right here in Washington, DC. Phil Ogilvie’s Rhythm Kings, more commonly called PORK, will be headlining our Saturday evening dance at the Glen Echo Spanish Ballroom.
In this special bailout in a new era of government we are bringing PORK to DC for their very first visit. We’re pleased to have such an exciting, high quality band playing your economic blues away from 9-midnight Saturday April 18, 2009.
There are no loopholes in the event of a sellout at this dance, however, and the Saturday night dance has sold out three years running! To ensure you get your piece of the bailout PORK pie make sure to register here.
Other tasty morsels in this pork barrel include a return by The Blue Crescent Quintet, The Cangelosi Cards, and The Boilermaker Jazz Band. You can get your stimulus on U Street on Saturday afternoon. U Street is the street Duke Ellington where grew up and started composing. On Sunday you can join the ObamaWatch as we dance on Freedom Plaza, just two blocks down Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House.
