Glen Echo Park

7300 MacArthur Blvd.
Glen Echo, MD 20812

Dances: Friday Main & Late; Saturday Main & Late; Sunday Afternoon & Main

Floor: wood (fast)

Best way to get there: Driving/Carpool

Public transit: Red line to Friendship Heights metro station, then transfer to 29 bus to MacArthur Blvd & Goldsboro Rd.

Note: The #29 bus runs on a limited schedule, so check the timetable to see what available options there are.

Parking: Glen Echo Park has a large parking lot, but there are significantly more DCLX 2025 attendees than there are parking spaces, so we highly recommend carpooling.

Newcomers may find it difficult to navigate, so read on and/or check out Glen Echo’s parking page. Enter the parking lot on MacArthur Blvd across from the Glen Echo Shopping Center (which has a 7-Eleven).  From the lot, you’ll cross a small footbridge and follow a winding path to get to the Park. The Ballroom is then straight ahead, behind the carousel and picnic benches.

Please be mindful of noise levels in the parking lot as you head back to your cars after our evening dances to help us maintain a positive relationship with the park’s neighbors.

Keep conversations at a reasonable volume and avoid unnecessary horn honking or loud music.

The Smithsonian’s Museum of American History

Address:
The Smithsonian’s Museum of American History
1300 Constitution Avenue NW
Washington, DC

The Museum is located on the National Mall at Constitution Avenue, N.W., between 12th and 14th Streets, Washington, D.C. Please plan to use the Constitution Avenue entrance (rather than the Madison Drive/National Mall entrance) for easiest access to the Coat Check/Bag Check.

Security Screening:
All visitors to the museum must go through a security screening including a visual bag inspection and passing through a metal detector.
Prohibited items include tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, knives, firearms, aerosol cans, and open containers of food or drink.
More information about the museum’s security and policies can be found on their website: https://americanhistory.si.edu/visit/security

Coat Check/Bag Check:
Dancers may not leave their bags, shoes, or other belongings in the area around the dance floor and band. Instead, a free coat check/bag check will be offered for DCLX participants on the first floor near the Constitution Avenue entrance. Dancers are asked to use the coat check/bag check rather than the museum’s lockers. Water bottles are permitted near the dancing.

Water:
The museum has water fountains and water bottle refilling stations near each public restroom. Water and other bottled beverages will be available for sale.

Food:
Outside food is not permitted in the museum. Food is available for purchase at both the museum’s cafeteria and at the Jazz Café.
