Last year was amazing and we could not have done it without you. We hope you’ll join us again on April 19 – 21, 2024 to celebrate our 21st year as we drink in the jazz!
We’ll be updating our website with information about DCLX 2024 as it becomes available, but for now, you should keep your calendars open the weekend of April 19-21, 2024!
DCLX is pleased to present a DCLXtra with Ian Hutchison and Slap Happy from New York City on September 30th, 2023. It’s been several years since we last had Ian in the Glen Echo Park Ballroom, but we know this appearance will be just as exciting as the last. Ian will be fronting a 7-piece combo that will keep you dancing all night.
8:00pm – 9:00pm – Free beginner Lindy Hop lesson, no experience or partner necessary.
9:00pm – 11:59pm – Swing dance with live music
$20 pre-registration/$30 at-the-door/$15 any time with school or active military ID
Masks encouraged. There will be no vaccination check at this dance.

DCLX is excited to bring Chelsea Reed and the Fair Weather Five out for our December DCLXtra. Join us for another fun night of swinging jazz and fun dancing. We’ll have a beginner Lindy Hop lesson at 8:00pm and swing out in the social dance to the live band beginning at 9:00.

Chelsea Reed and the Fair Weather Five are at home at swing dances, jazz clubs and concert halls alike. They have played renowned Philadelphia venues and travel the country year round to perform at music festivals and Lindy and Blues exchanges and workshops. They have had the honor of sharing the stage with trumpeter Terell Stafford and trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, who is featured on their 2017 release Spreadin’ Rhythm Around. Their 2020 release, Carolina Lullaby showcases original songs steeped in jazz, blues, and folk traditions where Reed’s vocals and swing musicality shine.
